| Spay/Neuter Financial Assistance |
| One of the missions of PHS is to reduce the number of
unwanted animals. We achieve this is by helping with the cost
of spaying and neutering family pets. If you would like
assistance with the cost of spaying and neutering your pet, an
application can be picked up at the shelter. |

| Free Housing For Dove's Residents |
| The PHS understands how important the well being of our
companion animals can be to those living in an abusive home.
We offer free housing for those needing a place to board their
pets for a short period of time. (If room is available.) |

| Pet Therapy For Local Retirement Centers |
| Pet therapy is very important to the well being of people.
Being able to pet a companion animal lowers blood pressure and
heart rate. This is why PHS visits many assisted living centers each month.
If this is a program that would benefit your group. Please give
us a call for available dates. |

| Lost and Found Program |
| The Shelter maintains a data base of lost and found animals.
This data base can get very large at times, so it is the
recommendation of Shelter Employees for you to check out the
strays entering the shelter every two to three days.
There's no one better then you to recognize your animal.
So please stop in often to see if your companion may have come
in. (Never give up hope) |

| Group Tours |
| PHS offers educational tours of our facility. These
tours help teach the public not only what we do at PHS, but also
the importance of spaying and neutering to help prevent the
number of unwanted pets that come through our doors. If
this is something that your group would like to learn about,
contact us for available times. |

| Educational Programs |
| In addition to group tours, we make visits to local schools
(and Libraries) with our therapy dog "Boots" who absolutely
loves attention and treats. We help teach kids about how
to care for a dog and many, many other things. If you
would like Boots and a PHS representative to visit your
classroom (or Library), contact us for available times. |

| Animal Licensing |
|
Did you know that in the cities of Scottsbluff, Gering, and
Terrytown that it is a city ordinance that your pets have a
current rabies vaccination and a city license? City
licenses are not only a city ordinance, but they also help the
staff at PHS to reunite you with your pet faster. They are
available at PHS, Midtown Animal Hospital, Pioneer Animal
Clinic, and Animal Health Center. Your pet must have a
current rabies vaccination to get one, and if your pet is spayed
or neutered, it is $5.00 for one year and if your pet is not
spayed or neutered, the city license is $10.00 for one year. |

| General and Private Cremations |
|
Here at the PHS, we know how important a companion animal can be
and how much a part of the family they become. We also
know the pain that the loss of a companion animal can cause.
We offer cremation services at this difficult time. A
private cremation is done completely by itself so that you get
only your pets remains back. The cost of this service
depends on what your pet weighs. For a dog less than 50
lbs., the cost is $55.00 plus tax. For a dog that weighs
50 to 85 lbs., the cost is $80.00 plus tax. For a dog that
weighs 85 lbs. to 100 lbs.it costs $100.00 plus tax for a private
cremation over 100 lbs. $150.00. If it is a cat that needs to be cremated, it
costs $40.00 plus tax. We also offer a general cremation
for those that don't want their pets' remains back. The
cost for this ranges from $35.00 to $50.00 for a dog, and $15.00 for a cat.
If these are services that you need, please contact us. |

| Euthanasia Services |
|
We also offer euthanasia services here at the PHS. The
cost for this service is $20.00 plus tax. We euthanize
animals with gas (carbon monoxide), so you will not be able to
be with your pet as it goes to sleep. It is very humane,
and doesn't hurt your pet. The employees at the PHS
realize that this is a difficult time for you and your family
and offer our condolences. |

| Foster Care Program |
|
The Panhandle Humane Society now has a foster care program.
This program helps to relieve the congestion of animals here at
the shelter. It also helps anyone one who is looking for a
pet to know if this is really the pet that they want. Here
at the PHS, it is important to us that these animals find good,
loving homes and that the pets are compatible with their new
homes and everyone in them. If this is something you are
interested in, stop at the shelter and fill out an application. |
